via Facebook... Look, I don't think murder is okay. But do not expect me to mourn over dead cops who won't be bothered to mourn over dead civilians. The same police who insist they did nothing wrong and would do it again as they murder unarmed civilians expect me to feel more for their dead then mine? And now they are using those dead cops as an excuse for more violence? To turn their backs on their mayor? To blame protesters who just want accountability? And the NYPD declared war. Even though they got their killer. But they will take it out on anyone who dares to question them.... So where are the good cops? Denouncing the rhetoric of hate and blame? I'm waiting to hear from you....

via Facebook... I am not a Tim Wise fan, but this bit is pretty well said... "The killing of the two officers in NYC is a terrible, horrible crime. AND, here's the thing: If you treat communities like you are an occupying army don't be surprised when folks assume you have declared war on them. And then don't be shocked when some decide to declare war back. Doesn't make it right, but it's damned sure predictable. So long as the NYPD continues to excuse every act of violence done by their members, and so long as they act as though they are above criticism, the war will likely continue, which is tragic for everyone on all sides of it. But unlike the cops, who can't and won't express real remorse for anyone they kill, we who protest them do express remorse for those officers who are killed. That's the difference between us, and it matters. And so long as black people are expected to express remorse for murdered officers who they did not personally kill, while officers are free to say they have no remorse for the black people they kill -- and they would "do it again" -- where supremacy remains in full effect." via Facebook... Congested. Nauseous. Headache. Chills then sweaty than chilled. Luckily The Teen went and did grocery shopping. I'm alternately wrapped up or sprawled on the couch watching Blue Planet. Occasional 5 minute nap. Timber ate my tissues. Misha sleeps on my legs.
