This includes not only renting rooms and apartments to tourists that have historically been rented to residents, but also includes buying and renovating real estate just for the purpose of renting to tourists. Some of the intersections of Airbnb with gentrification are profound. Desirable properties close to Manhattan in under-priced neighborhoods are attractive to both tourists and gentrifiers. I noticed the large number of listings in gentrifying neighborhoods like Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights and Bushwick."

via Facebook... All my technologies hate me. I switched interwebz and my laptop suddenly won't connect to the interwebz because something something filters something. Then my phone fell and the screen cracked spectacularly and I got a kit to repair it because I'm not sending it away for days and paying those prices but I haven't actually done it yet. And now my kindle has gotten wonky and the Facebook keeps freezing up AND WHY DO ALL THE THINGS HATE ME?!
